Four free tools.
One per moment
that matters.

Most planning content gives you a single PDF and asks for an email. Groundwork gives you four — one for each kind of week you're having. The daily ritual. The quarterly reset. The values clarification. The hard week. Each is a complete, useful tool on its own. Together, they're a working preview of the full system.

Why four, not one

A different free tool
for a different
kind of week.

Most readers don't have one productivity problem — they have whichever problem the current week is creating. The week of a redundancy isn't the week before a quarterly review. The week of a values reset isn't the week of "I just need to get through the next seven days without losing track." Each free tool is calibrated to one of those moments — designed to be useful immediately, on its own, without a single paid product.

Builder's note The 7-Day Sprint was the only free tool for the first six months. It worked — but only for one kind of reader. Several emails landed asking variants of "can you give me something for the quarterly thing?" and "I just got made redundant, what's the version of this for me?" These three new free tools exist because those emails were right.
Free tool 01 of 04 · Zone 01 · Daily Engine

The 7-Day Focus Sprint.

For the reader whose week disappears underneath them. Seven days of structured daily planning, one Brain Dump for the week's clutter, one Weekly Review to set the shape — and a short guide explaining the Ivy Lee method that the whole thing is built on.

What's in the sprint

Three tools that run a complete week.

The 7-Day Focus Sprint contains the three tools that form the beating heart of the Groundwork system — running from Sunday's Brain Dump through to Friday evening's daily reflection.

Tool 01 · Capture
Brain Dump Page
Use on Sunday before anything else. Get every open loop, task, worry, and idea out of your head. No structure. No prioritisation. Just complete capture. This feeds everything that follows.
Tool 02 · Cascade + Capture
Weekly Review (7-day version)
30 minutes on Sunday. Process the Brain Dump. Identify this week's three most important objectives. Set Monday up so you hit the ground with complete clarity.
Tool 03 · Constraints
Daily Focus Sheet × 7
Seven undated daily pages — one for each day of the sprint. Ivy Lee structure: three ranked priorities, time-block, must-not-do constraints, Stoic prompt, evening reflection, day score. Two minutes to fill in.
Included · Reference
The Ivy Lee Method — One-Page Guide
The 1918 prioritisation system behind the Daily Focus Sheet — history, the rules, why it works, how to adapt it. Print and pin beside your desk.
After the sprint
The natural next step is the full Daily Focus Sheet pack (£3.99) and Weekly Review (£3.99). Together they give you unlimited undated pages to run the Cascade indefinitely.

Values Architecture Lite.

For the reader who keeps setting goals that don't stick. A single-page values clarification worksheet, drawn from the Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) tradition. Goals fail when they aren't anchored to something underneath. This is the worksheet that finds the anchor.

Methodology Adapted from Steven Hayes' ACT values work and Tobias Lundgren's Bull's Eye exercise. Used by clinical psychologists for two decades. The full Values Architecture in the paid bundle goes deeper — this single page is the entry point.
What's in the download
  • The Bull's Eye worksheet — locate the gap between values and action across four life domains
  • The Values Statement page — name what matters in your own words
  • The 90-Day Pull-through — translate one named value into one quarterly action
  • 2-page guide — what ACT values work is and why goal-setting alone fails without it
  • All seven formats — print, tablet, Notion mini-template

The 90-Day Reset.

For the reader between quarters. The annual New Year resolution doesn't work. Twelve weeks does. The 90-Day Reset is a single sheet that closes one quarter and opens the next — what worked, what didn't, three goals for the next ninety days, one numeric metric each.

Methodology Drawn from the OKR tradition (Andy Grove, John Doerr) and Brian Moran's The 12 Week Year. Quarters are the only planning horizon short enough to feel real and long enough for compounding to show.
What's in the download
  • The 90-Day Debrief sheet — close the quarter just ending, honestly
  • The 90-Day Goal sheet — three goals, one metric each, one Sunday
  • The Quarterly Cadence guide — when to use which sheet across the next twelve weeks
  • One-page primer on why annual goals fail and quarterly ones don't
  • All seven formats — print, tablet, Notion

The Resilience Card.

For the reader having a bad week. A single double-sided card. One side is a stripped-down daily structure for getting through the day. The other is a five-question audit of the things that hold you up — sleep, movement, food, contact, ground. Designed for redundancy, illness, divorce, grief, or any week where the full system is too much.

Methodology Drawn from the Southwick & Charney resilience research and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy. Most planning collapses precisely when planning is needed most. The card is built to survive that collapse.
What's in the download
  • The Resilience Card — single A6 double-sided sheet, designed to fit a wallet or pin to a wall
  • The Daily Minimum side — three priorities, one meal, one walk, one human contact
  • The Weekly Audit side — five-question check-in across the resilience domains
  • One-page primer — what to do in week one of a hard period
  • All seven formats including a print-and-cut A4 sheet for fast deployment

How the free tools relate to the paid bundle

Each free tool
is one zone, one cadence,
one moment.

If the free tools cover one moment each, the complete bundle is what makes them one connected system. The Daily Focus Sheet feeds the Weekly Review, which feeds the 90-Day Goal Planner, which feeds the Annual Blueprint, which sits below the Values Architecture. Inside the OS, that whole cascade runs live — your daily score becomes a weekly average, becomes a quarterly debrief, automatically. The free tools are the entry; the OS is the connective tissue.

If the free tools work for you
Stay free. Run them.

Many readers run only the Sprint for years and that's enough for them. The free tools are not crippled samples — they're complete artefacts. If you never buy anything, that's a successful Groundwork experience. The newsletter ships occasional new free pieces and updates — that's the only thing we'll ever email.

When the free tools start linking up in your head
The full bundle is the connected version.

All 28 products. All formats. The full OS where the cascade runs live. £54.99 one-time, no subscription, all updates included.

Common questions about the free tools

Read this
before downloading.

Are these really free, or is it freemium?
Really free. Each tool is the actual artefact, not a watermarked preview. You give your email; we send the file. There is no second tier of the same tool waiting behind a paywall. The complete bundle is a different thing — it's the connection between all 28 tools, not a "full version" of these four.
Will I be added to a launch sequence?
No. One email when you sign up — the download. After that, occasional emails when a new free tool ships or one of the existing ones gets an update. No nurture sequence, no daily tips, no upsell drip. Unsubscribe in one click and the file stays yours.
Can I download all four with one email?
Yes — sign up to any one of them and you'll get a follow-up email with links to the other three. Or grab them individually as you need them.
Which one should I start with?
If your week feels like it's running you, start with the Sprint. If you're between quarters or planning a reset, the 90-Day Reset. If your goals keep evaporating, Values Architecture Lite. If you're in or near a hard moment, The Resilience Card. There's no order. Pick the one for the week you're in.
Why give away this much?
Because most readers will never know whether the methodology fits them until they run it for a week. The free tools are the run. If they fit, the complete bundle is the obvious next step. If they don't, the email cost is zero and we both move on.
