About the The Weekly Debrief

The Weekly Review tells you what happened. The Weekly Debrief tells you why. Where the review is operational — what moved, what stalled, what carries forward — the debrief is psychological. It's the tool for the man who consistently plans well and executes inconsistently, who knows exactly what he should be doing and still finds himself not doing it. Built around MI's core principle that ambivalence is normal and should be explored, not suppressed.

Methodology · The Cascade
Annual goals flow down to quarterly milestones, weekly priorities, and daily actions. This product sits in the Cascade layer — connecting the horizon above it to the execution below.
What's included — The Weekly Debrief printable
Intention gap — what did I plan to do this week that I didn't? No justification required. Just honesty.
Avoidance inquiry — MI-style: what might the avoidance have been protecting? What would have happened if I'd done it?
Values alignment check — which of my actions this week were consistent with my values? Which weren't?
Self-talk audit — what was the internal narrative this week? Was it accurate? Was it useful?
One honest question — a single question this week that I've been avoiding answering
Next week intention — not a plan. One specific thing I'm willing to commit to, with a realistic confidence score
Who is this for?
Anyone using the Groundwork system who wants to go deeper on Coaching
People who want structure that actually connects to their goals
Those who have tried generic planners and found them too vague

The format range is what sets Groundwork apart. I use the Notion template during the week and print the A5 for weekends. Both are properly designed — not an afterthought.

★★★★★
Clean, purposeful design. No wasted space, no filler prompts. This is what a planning tool should look like — everything on the page earns its place.

Third Groundwork product I've bought. The consistency across the range means everything works together. Filofax sizes are accurate and the greyscale printing is crisp.

Questions about this product

Common questions

What formats are included?
Every Groundwork product includes A4, A5, Filofax, and US Letter print sizes, plus a hyperlinked digital PDF for GoodNotes or Notability, plus a Notion template. All in a single download.
Is it undated?
Yes. All Groundwork products are undated — no pre-printed year, month, or day. Start any time, reprint as many times as you need.
How do I print at home?
Print on standard 80gsm paper in greyscale or colour. The designs are built to work in greyscale — no full-bleed backgrounds, so no wasted ink. Set quality to 'standard' not 'draft' for clean lines.
Does it work with GoodNotes or Notability?
Yes. The digital PDF has active hyperlinks and is optimised for stylus input on iPad. Works on GoodNotes, Notability, Xodo, and any other PDF annotation app.
